Texas Investments Portfolio Symposium
The Texas Investment Portfolio Symposium (or TIPS), now in its 11th year, is a forum for students, faculty and staff from the Texas and surrounding southwestern universities with an investment management curriculum.
On Saturday, February 15, 2014, four Bulldog Investment Company interns presented at the TIPS challenge, hosted at Southern Methodist University's Cox School of Business.
The Bulldog interns were given ten minutes to walk a panel of judges (all of whom are industry professionals) through their investment philosophy, process, and performance. At the end of the ten minutes, the judges had five additional minutes for questions. The goal of the competition was to convince the judges that their philosophy and processes were superior to their peers, best equipping them to manage a portfolio.
Of the 44 schools that attended this year's conference,
Texas Lutheran University placed third in the Portfolio Managers Competition.
